Flatiron Grand Hotel NYC

The Flatiron Grand Hotel occupies one of NoMad’s true survivors. Built between 1890 and 1891 as the Beverwyck Hotel, this seven-story Renaissance Revival of brick, brownstone and terra cotta was designed by the celebrated firm Renwick, Aspinwall & Renwick. In an age when New York’s gentlemen kept rooms close to the theaters and clubs of the neighborhood, the Beverwyck was a refined address for the city’s bachelors, home to stockbrokers, club men and characters whose stories still cling to its walls.

For much of the twentieth century the building was known as the Hilmont Hotel, a fixture of West 27th Street through the changing fortunes of the neighborhood now called NoMad. Today that history is being carefully restored. Reborn as the Flatiron Grand Hotel, the building keeps its landmark bones and the quiet dignity of its origins while welcoming a new generation of guests.
